Program description
The short version
After you visit a business and opt in, RevIQ sends follow-up texts from that business’s dedicated number. Positive replies route to a review request. Negative replies route privately to the manager.
RevIQ is a registered Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and customer engagement platform that powers automated SMS messaging on behalf of local businesses. After customers visit a business and opt in, they receive personalized follow-up text messages to check on their experience. Based on customer feedback, the system may send a Google Review link (for positive experiences) or handle concerns privately (for negative experiences). Businesses may also send periodic promotional announcements about events, specials, and exclusive offers, as well as recovery coupons through the platform.
- Program name: RevIQ Customer Engagement
- Platform: RevIQ operates as an ISV sending messages on behalf of subscribing local businesses. Each business’s customers only receive messages from that specific business’s dedicated phone number.
- Message types: Visit follow-ups, satisfaction surveys, review requests, promotional announcements, special offers, and recovery coupons.
- Frequency: Message frequency varies based on visit activity and business promotions. Typically 1–5 messages per visit interaction, plus periodic promotional messages.
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply. RevIQ does not charge consumers for messages.
Opt-in process
The short version
Customers opt in one of two ways: by scanning a QR code and filling out a check-in form, or by verbally agreeing and having staff enter their phone number. Either way, consent is explicit and disclosures are clear.
Customers provide express written consent to receive text messages through two primary methods:
Method 1 · QR code & web check-in
Customers scan a QR code displayed at the business location, or visit the check-in page directly. They enter their name and phone number into a web form. Directly below the submit button, a clear disclosure states the following:
Check-in form disclosure
Method 2 · In-person verbal consent
At the physical location, staff may ask customers if they would like to receive follow-up messages about their visit. Upon verbal agreement, staff enters the customer’s name and phone number into the RevIQ dashboard. The customer immediately receives a welcome message identifying the business and including opt-out instructions.
Opt-out instructions

You can cancel SMS messages at any time. Simply text STOP to the number you received messages from. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. After that, you will no longer receive messages. If you want to rejoin, text START to the same number.
